FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
What is Kung Fu? What kind of Kung Fu do you teach?Kung Fu essentially means "hard work" or "time and effort" in Chinese. The term today refers to a wide variety of Chinese martial arts. I teach those that I learned from my Sifus at the Chinese Shaolin Center in Atlanta, GA. You can loosely think of it as Chinese mixed martial arts. Some styles I practiced and teach are Pa Kua, Hsing Yi, Lohan, Tiger, Crane, and more. I also take some inspiration from what I've learned from boxing and Muay Thai.

What should I bring with me?Yourself, your yoga mat, and a bottle of water! Most of our training will consist of body weight exercises, and all equipment will be provided.
-
How much does it cost?Access to all our classes is $105/month, which equates to just $5 per class! There are no contracts or obligations. If you have a passion for Kung Fu and are currently in a disadvantageous financial situation, and are unable to make those payments, I will work with you. If you are military or otherwise must miss certain parts of the month, you will not be forced to pay for the full month. I also offer one-on-one sessions for $50 a session, and additional discounts off my group classes if you regularly train with me.
-
Are there age restrictions?Right now, I train ages 14 and up (with certain exceptions), but there is no upper age limit! I have taught students as young as six up and students that were 70+. When we open our doors as a full-time school, I will open classes for kids as well!

I am very busy with my work schedule. How much time do I need to spend doing martial arts training?Your time is valuable to me! Right now I teach fives days a week, Sunday at 10AM, and Monday-Thursday at 6:30 PM, but this may expand to include more sessions over time. Generally, I recommend you practice what you learn with us 2x a week, which can easily be worked into your current physical training regimen without much effort. However, it can also stand alone if you need to develop a new routine! As a personal trainer, I would be more than happy to assist you in periodizing your training if you need it.

Do I need to be in good shape before I start? Do I need to have previous experience? No! Our slogan is "Anyone Can Fight!" All training routines will be adapted to your current ability. As a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, this is my specialty! However, I also have experience training black belts, so if you're looking for a challenge, or have previous experience, I am also happy to work with you!
